Monday, December 23 – Welcome to Israel! ברוכים הבאים

  • Arrival in Israel, group meets Ramah staff at the airport
  • Opening ceremony at Neot Kedumim Biblical Landscape Reserve, followed by a tour of the park, tree planting, a sheep herding activity and lunch
  • Explore the old city of Yaffo and its ancient port and take a walk along the beach promenade
  • Check in to the hotel
  • Dinner at the hotel
  • Orientation and Chanukah candle lighting
  • Overnight: Herods, Tel Aviv (or similar)

 

Tuesday, December 24 – A Different Perspective

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Volunteer with Leket Israel picking fresh produce in the fields of Kvutzat Schiller which will be donated to the needy
  • Lunch on own in Rehovot
  • Get an interactive tour of the Weizmann Institute Science Park and explore its many outdoors science exhibits
  • Visit the Children’s Museum in Holon to experience the interactive exhibits – “Dialogue in the Dark” OR “Invitation to Silence” (for adults), or “At Eye Level” (for children)
  • Return to the hotel
  • Chanukah candle lighting
  • Free evening in Tel Aviv, dinner on own
  • Overnight: Herods, Tel Aviv (or similar)

 

Wednesday, December 25 – Jerusalem of Gold

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Check out of the hotel
  • Drive to Jerusalem
  • Enjoy a panoramic view of the city from atop Mount Scopus
  • Explore the shops and alleyways of Machane Yehuda Market, including tastings
  • Volunteer at Pantry Packers making food packages for the needy
  • Check in to the hotel
  • Chanukah candle lighting
  • Free evening in Jerusalem, dinner on own
  • Overnight: Dan Panorama, Jerusalem (or similar)

 

Thursday, December 26 – Jerusalem in Her Glory

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Walk along the old city walls from Jaffa Gate to Zion Gate
  • Tefillah with Torah reading at the Robinson’s Arch area of the Western Wall
  • Explore the Davidson Center Archaeological Park and Southern Wall excavations
  • Take a VR tour of the Second Temple at “A Look Into the Past”
  • Personal time at the Kotel Plaza
  • Shopping time and lunch on own in the Jewish Quarter
  • Tour the Kotel Tunnels to get a glimpse of what lies hidden underground, and a sense of the grand scale of the Temple Mount built by King Herod
  • Chanukah candle lighting
  • Free evening in Jerusalem, dinner on own

Friday, December 27 – Yerushalayim Shel Kodeh Ve’chol

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Tour Yad Vashem (adults) OR the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo (children)
  • Lunch on own at Ramat Beit Hakerem
  • Visit Mount Herzl National Cemetery and see the graves of Israeli and Zionist Movement leaders and IDF soldiers
  • Return to the hotel
  • Prepare for Shabbat

Shabbat, December 28 – Shabbat in Jerusalem

Sunday, December 29 – Secrets of Masada

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Drive south via the Dead Sea
  • Tour Masada – ascend via cable car or the snake path, explore the ruins and learn about King Herod and the palace he built here and about the Jewish zealots who made a last stand against the Romans
  • Relax at the Ein Gedi Hot Springs, including outdoor and indoor pool, a private beach on the Dead Sea, and a hot lunch in the cafeteria
  • Return to Jerusalem
  • Chanukah candle lighting
  • Free evening in Jerusalem, dinner on own

Monday, December 30 – Can You Dig It?

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Check out of the hotel
  • Enjoy a hands-on “Dig for a Day” archaeological experience at Beit Guvrin National Park, helping researchers dig and sift through the ruins of Tel Maresha
  • Drive south
  • Learn about agriculture in the desert at The Salad Trail, picking and tasting various fresh vegetables, and enjoy a hot lunch
  • Drive to Kibbutz Mashabei Sadeh
  • Check in to the guesthouse
  • Dinner at the kibbutz
  • Overnight: Mashabim Country Lodging

 

Tuesday, December 31 – Wonders of the Negev

  • Breakfast at the kibbutz
  • Tour Ben Gurion’s home at Kibbutz Sde Boker, including new Escape Room activity
  • Visit Ben Gurion’s gravesite, overlooking a sweeping view of Nahal Zin and the Negev desert
  • Hike through the canyon of Ein Avdat and marvel at this desert oasis
  • Enjoy Riding on a Camel and lunch at Chan Hashayarot
  • Return to Mashabei Sadeh
  • Dinner at the kibbutz
  • Overnight: Mashabim Country Lodging

 

Wednesday, January 1 – The Sky is the Limit

  • Breakfast at the kibbutz
  • Check out of the guesthouse
  • Viewpoint overlooking the Makhtesh Gadol (large crater), a geological phenomenon unique to the deserts of Israel and Sinai
  • Drive into the Makhtesh and explore the colorful sand formations
  • Lunch on own in Be’er Sheva
  • Visit the Israel Air Force Museum at Kibbutz Hatzerim
  • Drive north
  • Farewell dinner at a restaurant
  • Drive to the airport
  • Depart Israel
